That's neat about the NOAAPORT system. I have other programs as well plus a NOAA Weather Radio. I like to compare the various services and see which one is the fastest.:-)

I actually use that, good program, although i have other/multiple means of getting alerts etc, I also use a program on my laptop that hooks directly into the NWS noaaport system.

There are various ways to get alerts, heck i even keep a weather radio in my chase car as well. The point being, as long as you get them then use whatever means available.

I’ve had some people, especially storm spotters, chasers, and HAM radio operators, ask me about a solid program with the main function of delivering severe weather alerts. While our WeatherBug desktop, Mac, iOS, and Android applications do an excellent job of providing severe weather alerts to the community, these tools also come with additional weather monitoring capabilities besides weather alerting alone. This is beneficial to those needing a solid, all-in-one weather application, but at times, storm spotters, chasers, and HAM radio operators need a simple, streamlined, solid, and speedy program whose main goal is to provide alerts from the NWS without the additional features found in full-fledged apps.
For those needing such a program, I highly recommend WXWarn from WXSpots. Like its name suggests, this app is an excellent little tool for quickly receiving weather alerts from the NWS. It’s a valuable tool to add to one’s weather toolbox (and I have personally added it to mine), especially for storm spotters, chasers, and HAM radio operators needing a quick way to receive NWS alerts without going to a full-fledged, all-in-one weather app.
Those interested in owning a copy of WXWarn themselves can download a free copy with a banner ad from this website, as well as upgrade to the ad-free version of the software for only $7. It’s a small price to pay for a rock solid weather alerting program that keeps members of the community informed of severe weather occurring in their region.

I added some links to Telestream's Wirecast and Wirecast Go. Wirecast is an excellent application for Mac or PC that allows one to stream one's storm chasing coverage to services such as SevereStreaming. Wirecast Go is now an iPhone app that allows one to do the same without the need for going through a computer.

Added links to TVN Weather and Live Storms Media to the links box. Also working on a way where storm chasers can add their ID of their preferred streaming service, as well as their ID's for Spotter Network and SKYWARN, to their WeatherBug Community profiles. Thanks to my fellow colleague Charles Blackburn for the suggestions for TVN and Live Storms Media!

I've added some links that explain the lightning network that powers our apps, as well as I've linked to our severe weather group so people can join there and send us storm reports.

Sounds good. I've got some more fun links and stuff coming to this group soon.

Hi , I'm into watching the weather and would love to be a part of some group that actually care about your observations , I weather watch for a local TV station and my information is barely ever passed along to my followers .
