Does anyone have a Backyard Station in HI? If so, let me know and I'll embed their data on this page.

I've made the changes to the Hawaii Weather Group, so this group is now fully up-to-date! If someone has a Facebook on here, reach out to Zach Stanford, tell him you know me, and ask him to help create a Hawaii Weather page for Facebook. Once it's up, I'll link it to this page. We're teaming up with Zach's Facebook Weather pages to drive more traffic to our site.

Alaskan Weather Discussions have now been moved to the following group:

http://backyard.weatherbug.com/group/alaskanweather

Please join that group to continue discussing Alaskan Weather. This group is now exclusively for Hawaiian Weather Discussions. All Alaskan Weather Maps, Discussions, and Feeds have been ported over to the new group. The only things that haven't been ported over are comments posted here on the comment wall. Feel free to copy/paste comments on Alaskan Weather from this wall over to the new wall.

Sounds good! I can transfer all the discussions and blog over, the only thing that won't transfer over is the comments we've posted here on the wall, but you're welcome to re-post anything over there you wish (I'll leave all our old comments here) and from now on we'll just discuss Aloha Weather). I'll probably go in and do that tonight or this weekend. I've been tweaking the group sites a bit, so when I get to the regional groups soon, I'll make the move and invite you to join.

Sounds good to me, Nathan as long as the new one for Alask contains everything that was posted here on the combined site about Alaska. Hope Rick's Alaska Blog will transfer over well. Great stuff coming in just about daily on that!! Love it! Would be nice if we had a similar one for Hawaii, but then again, I don't think as much news occurs in Hawaii, much smaller area, and much more uniform climate unless you can get some reports from up in the mtns, which Mal does get in from time to time.

Sounds good! This one was originally set for HI, so should I rename this one "Hawaiian Weather" and create a new one for Alaskan Weather?

John,

How do you like the items piping in from Rick Thoman's Alaska weather blog? I love them, particularly the reports of snow up in Barrow. Rick is quite knowledgeable about Alaska weather. I was looking at the official coop form for Chicken AK from Jan 1997, and the first week of that month had low temps down to -70, and at least 3 days where the high temp was -60 or colder! The observer's comments were priceless. If you would like to look at this form and many others, you can view/download/print them from the NCDC website for free, just ask me if you are interested and I can give you the URL and tell you how to get them, where exactly to go.

Take care,

Kevin

John,

I agree with you on splitting up Alaska and Hawaii weather groups. They are so different, and stories for one is almost never related at all with the other one. I love seeing posts about Hawaii, particularly on the high volcano areas when they get cold and get snow, but separating them out would be best indeed.

Hey an suggestion . How about making Alaskan and Hawaiian weather an separate group. There is some much diffences in the weather. only similar is the Rainfall in SE and the islands. Otyher then that they are very different
