It doesn't stop us at all as I have worked outside all my life . There only been half dozen time when weather effected sailing and it was only for passagers comfort. Wind where 80 knots and gusting 95. Guess as to the play it goes with the terrority. Alsakans are outside people and only extreme cold (=60) slows us down.
In SE AK kids play soccer/football and lot of baseball regards of the rain. If waited for rain to stop season games would never end.

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM PDT THIS AFTERNOON.
SEAS HAVE REACHED 15 FEET AT THE CAPE ELIZABETH BUOY THIS MORNING.
THIS IS THE HIGHEST THE SURF HAS BEEN SO FAR THIS SEASON. PEOPLE
ON THE WASHINGTON COAST CAN EXPECT HAZARDOUS SURF AND ARE ADVISED
TO USE CAUTION. LARGE WAVES CAN SUDDENLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY SWEEP
OVER BREAKWATERS AND JETTIES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN
THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH
EROSION.
