General Design Tweaks
Hey guys,
Even though I'm an employee here, I'm going to be posting any feedback I have here as well so we can all discuss it together. I've given some of this to Chris Sloop to pass onto you, but any future feedback I have will go here.
Loving the new WeatherBug 7 design, but it could use a few general design tweaks:
Rename the "Radar" tab "Maps". Swapout the current interactive map for our interactive map that's at WeatherBug.com (resolution is a lot better). Also, add all of our "static" maps in there as well so customers have a choice to use the interactive or static maps.
Rename the "Photos" tab "Media". Add the ability to watch the forecast videos inside WeatherBug 7, as well as links to the Backyard Community Photo and Video galleries so users can send us photos/videos.
Ads are WAY too big on the right-hand side. They're obtrusive to me. Let's make them a little smaller and use some of that space for valuable content.
We need to integrate Traffic Cams into our Cameras section.
Weather News and Hurricane Tools are missing. We need to get those integrated in. BIG things customers love.
We might want to tweak "Allergy", "Travel", "Beach and Boating", etc., and mimic more of WeatherBug.com with "Health", "Lifestyle", etc. We can squeeze more content in there that way.
We might want to rename "Mobile" or add a section for "Weather Tools". Link to Mobile, our API, glossary, etc.
That's the beginning! More feedback to come!

One way we could link to Backyard Photos and videos is with the RSS feeds. I can provide the RSS feeds and embed the photos and videos directly into WB7.

I would like to be able to view the summary for whatever station I choose on WB7. The travel section should feature a place where you can enter the city, st/zipcode for your travel destination.

I also liked the Layout of Weatherbug v. 5.0 better than any other weatherbug layout.

It would be nice if WB software programmers would change the layout of WB7 back to the layout of WB 5 and add the new features (backyard stations etc.) But I highly doubt they would do that. Lol. And I bet it would be a pain in the butt if they tried to do that.

I would like to see them return the TODAY'S HIGH and TODAY'S LOW for the temps back on the thing, it was nice seeing it on the other versions, I don't know why they removed it for. Also the TODAY'S HIGH and LOW for the wind speeds would be nice to see that back on the weatherbug 7

Ah, that would explain why every so often Weatherbug Plus forgets the activation code. I currently have Weatherbug 6.8 and I have always noticed that when something is in the midst of preparing for an upgrade to a new version, things don't always work properly. May I ask when version 7 is due for formal launch (and do I use the same activation code or 7 as I do for 6.8?)

I'm trying to get a status on WeatherBug 7 Elite. I'm trying to get us to ditch Plus codes and go with tying it into the Backyard Communiity.
