Hi Nathan,

I bought the "no ads" option (Weatherbug Plus?), and ever since, it requires me to enter my Applid's password whenever I launch the app. MAJOR pain! (I'd rather put up with the ads!)

Thanks.

Hey I just checked my email about that spammer named Symone Jone who was banned a couple of weeks ago and it turns out she did NOT(the word not in capital letters) become a member of my state weather group when she was a member and did NOT(again the word not in capital letters) spam my state page! I didn't know about this untill now thanks.

Not exactly sure where to post this, so feel free to respond/redirect/repost as appropriate.

When I try to show the weather from the weather.weatherbug.com site, enter my city, it's picked a station 300km away. Sometimes it's only been 100km. If I try to "change weather station", navigate to my area on the map, find an appropriate station (yellow dot, private station)... click "set station". So far, so good. The page redraws - and shows me "world regions" - not the local weather I expected - and if I click on "Local weather" it takes me to some other station - not the one I selected!

Other gripes.

Why do you draw the thermometer with a 0-100 scale even if it's showing in degC? Surely something with an upper range of say, 50, would be far more reasonable?

Why is my weatherstation showing a time thats about 14 hours behind my actual time? The API specifies sending time in UTC (which would explain 10 hours) - and I didn't see any parameter for localtime or time offset. (Display of sunrise/sunset is also wrong - sunrise at 3:47pm and sunset at 2:19am are clearly screwy!

The same issues exist in the "check data" page:
http://data.backyard2.weatherbug.com/data/ecv.aspx?ID=p13715

Your maps to display stations etc FORCE you to download and install the microslops bugware "silverlight". The license conditions are crap - but they do specifically say you can turn OFF their call-home code and automatic updates from redmond. The URL they give however - only takes you to the same license conditions page, which merely repeats the same thing: "This software contains an Automatic Update feature that is on by default. For more information about this feature, including instructions for turning it off, see go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=217109."  The link is back to the same page. How do I turn off and remove this nonsense? Wish I'd never agreed to it in the first place. It's not that I don't trust microshaft - it's just that I *REALLY* don't trust them - and neither should you! This sort of invasive code has no place on your site, and effectively forcing people to use it to effectively use your site does you a great disservice.

Or, you could set up a second weatherbug account and send me the info for that one, so we don't (potentially) bugger up your existing data.

OK, I checked every camera with in 6.30 miles of my 07661 zip code.

Hackensack and New Milford you have explained. Three other cams at Garfield NJ, Englewood Cliffs Upper School, NJ and Emerson, NJ also seems to have cams that are down or not working? Something is def wrong somewhere.

At 1:13pm on May 1, 2012, Susan Battersby said…

OK, absolutely untrue! My cameras worked correctly until I downloaded Weather 7.

I live no where near the Bronx NY. Hackensack NJ and New Milford NJ both have live cams within a mile of me and that's what I should be seeing and used to see.

At 12:24pm on May 1, 2012, Susan Battersby said…

Tried that, still not working. Now my camera has switched from Yonkers to Bronx, NY.

At 2:47pm on April 27, 2012, Susan Battersby said…

OK let's see if I can clarify this better.

Weather 6, my Live Cams were working perfectly. I downloaded/installed Weather 7 and they weren't. I uninstalled Weather 7 and redownloaaded Weather 6.

Now my Live Cameras on Weather 6 are not working correctly.

I live in River Edge NJ, my location is usually set to new Milford or Hackensack NJ, both with Live Cams. I shouldn't be getting a Live Cam from Yonkers when I don't live near Yonkers.

I have also tried what is stated in the e mail. Something in Weather 7 broke the Live Cams for me in Weather 6.
