Half of an amazing rainbow!

Posted on June 30, 2011 at 3:51am 2 Comments

These days it's rare that I am in the right place to catch a full-on rainbow. For me, it just never happens. But imagine my surprise when I found what you see in the picture below. The rainbow that was right there in front of me was so large, no amount of backing up would allow me to get the entire thing into frame for the photo. It was HUGE! I'm just fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to see it at all I guess. :) Feel free to click on the image to see the full size of it. This…

White River Flood In DeVallsBluff Arkansas - simply unreal footage

Posted on May 12, 2011 at 6:30pm 2 Comments

I was amazed and proud of the individuals that stood up to mother nature and exclaimed; "Not my home..."

I think it's easy to forget just how lucky many of us truly are. The folks dealing with the tremendous flooding are fighting incredible odds. But I will admit, seeing a team of individuals coming together to do the impossible makes me very proud of what we as a species can accomplish when properly motivated. I am in complete and…

As you can see here from WeatherBug media partner, KING5 in Seattle, Mount Vernon in Washington (state) has seen something truly once in a lifetime. A fully formed funnel cloud making an appearance here in the town I happen to live in. For those of you in the mid-west shaking your heads at the thought of something like this being…

About Me and My Weather Interests
WeatherBug is a weather technology company. We started the company in 1992 by building our own weather station hardware along with lesson plans and curriculum for schools. We also developed software to be used on television.

We have come a long way since 1992 when all our weather stations we being accessed by 2400 baud modems. Today, our weather stations include the capability to detect intracloud lightning and all you have to do is plug it into the ethernet to get it connected.

We still develop education lesson plans and curriculum, you can still see WeatherBug on TV...but now you can download our desktop application, you can get WeatherBug widgets for Mac, Vista, Google...and you can get WeatherBug on your cell phones and smart phones.
