LOTS OF SUNSHINE BUT COLD TODAY...ANOTHER COLD NIGHT IN STORE BUT NOT QUITE AS COLD AS LAST NIGHT

Well today was picture perfect here in northcentral Pennsylvania with not a cloud in the sky, plenty of sunshine but cold temperatures although it didn't feel as bad because there wasn't as much wind as we have had the last couple of days. Winds were still on the brisk side though. Our temperatures ranged from a low this morning in the single digits to an afternoon high in the upper 20's. A weak shortwave will pass by to the north of the state tonight bringing nothing more than a few clouds to… Continue

Warmer Temps For Mid-Michigan

Click for Corunna, Michigan Forecast

This morning actually feels balmy in comparison to what we've had the past few days. We do have a thin overcast but temps are mild with almost no wind, so it feels quite comfortable out there. Even though the high yesterday was only 24F, we did lose a bit of snow because of the sun so there are bare spots on our landscape. Our 9 AM temp is 17.8°F, the… Continue

THE COLD DEFINITELY WON THE BATTLE TODAY

You know the saying it is too cold to snow. I used to always wonder how could it be too cold to snow? It can and it was today at least here in northcentral Pennsylvania. You see cold high pressure located to our north kept the cold air entrenched and also at the same time pushed that southern storm to our south. That storm will pass well south of the state this evening. The northern extent of accumulating snow as a result will just brush the far southern counties along the Maryland border with… Continue

Bitterly Cold in Mid-Michigan

With the cold Canadian air comes clear skies and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. With the full moon, it was so bright and beautiful outdoors but you sure don't want to be out there very long! When I got out of work last night, the temp was only 2F and I believe that was the low. NOAA is showing a low of 3F for Lansing and 4F for Flint but those temps are at the airports and we're always a few degrees colder out here in the boonies. We have sunshine… Continue

COLD TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE RIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND IT WILL BE A CLOSE CALL WITH A SOUTHERN STORM

Fair skies were the rule through about mid morning today. Then, however, after that the clouds moved in and for the rest of the day it ranged from mostly cloudy to overcast. Temperatures here in northcentral Pennsylvania ranged from around 11 degrees this morning in my backyard to an afternoon high in the low to mid 20's. Winds were quite gusty again so it felt even colder. It was actually biting out. What little sun we did see had little effect. High pressure will continue to provide… Continue
