To sum it up in a word...wet!!! As a matter of fact very very wet. We have had mostly heavy rain all day. As of blog time I have measured almost 3 and a 1/2 inches of rain so far in my guage. And it is not over yet.
A deep plume of moisture associated with the remnants of Tropical Storm Nicole will continue to focus on central and eastern Pennsylvania and bring moderate to heavy rainfall through tonight. Excessive rainfall over eastern Pennsylvania will likely cause extensive… Continue

We woke to overcast skies this morning but after reading the CocoRahs reports this AM, I realized that most of the state is seeing sunshine. On checking the Weatherbug Sat/Rad for our area, I see a thin line of cloudiness that just happens to be over us. The good thing is that is is moving off and I can already see clearing to our NW. This should be another nice day although not quite as warm as yesterday. Don't know yet what I'll do. I did… Continue

Wednesday was mostly cloudy and cool, coolest maximum temperature all month.
Rain looked like it was going to arrive early in the afternoon, but our remnant HIGH
pressure exerted some of its last direct influences on us and dried up the advancing
rain (from the south) and the rest of the impulses out to the west of here in north-
central Virginia. So our rainfall came just before midnight tonight, and continues lightly
(so far) early this Thursday morning. Rain should… Continue

Although my Vantage Pro2 recorded a high of 92º on Wednesday, the official temperature at the airport recorded only 89º, one degree shy of the record of 90º for the date. The day followed the usual pattern of cool morning temperature of 59º warming slowly to the high reading in late afternoon at 5:35 PM. It was another sunny and dry day, with a low humidity reading of 10%.
Locally heavy canyon winds started to pick up at about 8:30 PM and are expected to increase through the night to… Continue

Clouds were increasing today here in northcentral Pennsylvania. However no rain fell as we had a brief break from the precipitation but more is not far away.
An upper level storm system over the Tennessee Valley will draw a plume of deep tropical moisture associated with Tropical Storm Nicole north up the east coast tonight and Thursday. This will create a soaking to heavy rainfall across all of central and eastern Pennsylvania. 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected across the eastern… Continue

Conditions now on the shore. 46 degrees, clear and calm.--Today, sun this morning, clouds moving in this afternoon, a rain shower is possible. High 64, SW at 10-20.Low 46.--Thursday, Mostly sunny, high 58, NW at 10-20.
Tuesday had some morning rain, then partial clearing in the late morning, and a bit warmer
with the sun coming out. Lots of residual moisture around so with the daytime heating
cumulus buildups by late afternoon were quite noticeable, particularly by me while on the
way home from the office right after sunset. There was this solid bank of cumulus
congestus clouds just NE of the DC Beltway, looking quite ominous, but dissipated after
dark. Dew points dropped into the low… Continue

At 89.3º we came very close to tying the 90º record high for the date. The day started off at a cool 60º and warmed very slowly to the high at 4:38 PM so all in all it was a very pleasant day. As usual, the sky was very blue with almost no clouds in view all day and the humidity was again in the teens mid afternoon.
Wednesday's record high is 89º so we have a good shot at tying or breaking the record tomorrow with the forecast calling for a high of 89º. I probably don't need to say… Continue
