The night out here have been in the 20's and low 30's. I'm missing the snow in the mountains really fierce right now, If it's going to be freezing, I would like some powdery, glistening white stuff to gaze upon. It's strange to look out the window, when its in the low 100's and see the same typography (see creosote bushes) when its freezing. Nothing changes. The weather detecting machinery, at the Marine base is still dead, with wind speed stuck at zero and temperature stuck at 50, trust me…

We have a very wet beginning to our day here in Mid Michigan but at least the temps are mild. Our 8 AM temp was 48F. We had rain most of the night but it has stopped for the time being. This should be the order of the day. Our lawn is still green although it doesn't appear to be growing anymore. My husband was worried that he may have to mow again but I don't think that will be the case.

Monday gave us our lowest temperature for the
month of November at 24.8, and Tuesday morning
will not get anywhere close to that for a minimum.
As it turns out, and this occurs quite frequently,
this low temp for the month coincides with my
highest pressure reading of the month (30.58")
that occurred Monday morning. If you think about it
it does stand to reason that both should occur on
the same day frequently.
Sunny skies most of the day, but…

Answer: When you have a 25 mph win blowing cold air from Siberia
which is precisely what the next stage of this cold spell in the UK has brought and it has brought what I term "wind confusion" and relates to the concept of wind chill. Now I know what wind chill is namely the temperature the air feels like thanks to the wind (and have experienced it this week more times than I would like to recall) but I have never been able to fully calculate wind chill because everytime I look…

We had quite a pleasant weekend weather-wise and today should be the same. Although there is rain in the forecast for our upcoming week, today should be dry and warmer than normal. I wish I didn't have to work tonight so I could get our for a bike ride, possibly one of my last for the season. This morning's 8 AM temp was 28.8F with partly cloudy skies. I am seeing an increase in cloud cover moving in from the WSW but we aren't expecting any rain until…

Sunday was a cold, clear day, with our coldest AM
min temp so far this season, but moderating in the
afternoon a bit, mostly due to the brisk winds
subsiding from Friday and Saturday. Also had our
coldest obs temp for this season so far tonight.
Nice day on Monday, temps moderating a bit more,
then increasing clouds later in the day ahead of our
next big rainmaker, a storm moving up from the
SW along our next cold front moving in from the
N W…

My apologies for disappearing the last few days, got a nasty wee cold that's just taken all my energy.
First off the winds have been brutal, we have been in alert status for quite a while, with frost and wind warnings a plenty. My wee bug woke me up chirping like a crazy thing, before i even click on it I knew from the banging and crashing on my windows, it was another wind warning. The wind speed detector at the Marine base must have blown away or suffered damage because it been…
