Is a big mid Atlantic snowstorm in the cards for late next week?

Models differ on a late week mid Atlantic snowstorm. The GFS has storm farter west whils some models push this storm south. This storm will have to be monitored further for the exact track and strength.

7. Impending low pressure for the United Kingdom.

The WeatherBug worldwide satellite image nicely illustrates the low pressure region approaching the United Kingdom. It'll be a windy couple of days, especially over Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England.

Here's hoping that there's no damage done.

Good luck to those in…

East to see coldest air of season first week of December.

The coldest air of the winter will arrive in the east next week, but there is also the question of a storm forming and dumping snow in the east as well. Models are very unclear at this time so keep informed as we are under a weak La Nina pattern at the present time. The pattern can change quickly again so we will have to monitor the models carefully.

More Flooding For The Philly Area!

The Philadelphia area got hit with a strong storm system last Sunday which caused some flooding to streets, streams, & rivers. Another storm system (that is almost exactly like Sunday's storm) is going to come by the area Thursday! This storm system is currently in Texas and the Louisiana area… Continue

Philly Weekend Outlook And Another Storm Brewing!

When people living in the Philadelphia area saw the snow falling yesterday, they most likely said "OH, NOT AGAIN!!". The good thing about that snow and today's snow is that they are from a clipper system and they WILL NOT produce any large amounts of snow. TODAY (SAT, JAN 29): We will see mostly sunny… Continue

The Trains Keep Coming Non-stop

We have another low coming ashore  this afternoon with another one developing 12 hours behind this one.  dropped 40 points in 4 hours, Wind advisory just came across and posted on website. Looking out to the west there are 2 more lows deeply intensivify. One of them is going to  go up near Sand point and stall out at 953mb. This will feed moisture  and wind all over the Alaskan coast and up into the Bering Sea. Not sure  if it will spawn  anything off of it but the 850mb jet stream has been…

Watching early to midweek storm for mid Atlantic and northeast!!!

Computer models are still battling one another over the potential track and phasing of 2 low pressure centers and the hairpulling index today is a nine!!!!!!!

By the way, the hair pulling index is how much hair I have left after reading these darn computer models and how much they disagree with each other.

One storm moves south and east from the Northern Rockies where Winter Storm Watches have been posted for Iowa and Nebraska while another low is expected to get…

Arctic Air to follow midwest storm!

Temperatures are expected to dive into the single digits on Saturday night into the Ohio Valley so make sure your water pipes are protected in the south!

This La'Nina is making me sick and with the Greenland block in place,I have a headache and I mean a bad one! The Greenland Block is what is responsible for holding the cold air in the east but then the Greenland blocks retrogrades or shifts and tries to bring warmer air in to the east!

    More snowstorms are likely…

Fast moving storm to affect the Midwest, Ohio Valley and Northeast! Another storm early next week.

A very fast moving storm coming from the midwest will not have time to drop feet of snow but, snowfall accumulations 0f 3-6 inches will be possible anywhere from Kansas City, St.Louis, Indianapolis, Cincy, and Pittsburgh.

Another winter weather event is possible next Tuesday. Will be more specific about this threat later.

Philly Snow Looks Like A NO!

Well it looks like we DON'T really have to worry about this possible coastal snow storm for Sunday along the Philadelphia area now. Most of the models are calling for a HIGH chance of this staying out to sea and possibly hitting the New England area. This DOESN'T mean that we are off the hook because…

Still Watching Snow For Philly!

The Philadelphia area is STILL watching this possible coastal snow storm for this weekend. The timing and how much are the two problems for the area. Will Philadelphia Get This Snow Storm?

Right now it is a VERY difficult situation with this potential snow storm for the East coast and Philadelphia area. The models are changing every new update and it's making everything going crazy here! As of right now, we are looking at a low pressure system out towards the west in Southern CA (Which is producing severe weather and heavy snow). This system is forecasted to move east into Arizona-Texas…
