I hope everyone has a blessed and Happy…

Fires, Earthquakes, and Supermoon

I recently heard in the news fires are sweeping across the nation, including the North Georgia Mountains where I lived a few years. If anyone has any reports to share concerning the recent fires sweeping across our nation, please share them with us right here on the WeatherBug Community Blog.

I also heard about a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck New Zealand. If anyone…

Access the WeatherBug Community from our Mobile Apps

We've recently added a new feature to our mobile apps called "Communities". The main goal of the feature is to provide organizations with a content management publisher that can integrate with our mobile apps. Some organizations are already taking advantage of this new feature.

In addition to these other organizations, we have rolled our own set of tiles in our "Communities" publisher that allows WeatherBug Community members to access various portions of the WeatherBug…

Handy Weather Alerting Software Program, WXWarn from WXSpots

I’ve had some people, especially storm spotters, chasers, and HAM radio operators, ask me about a solid program with the main function of delivering severe weather alerts. While our WeatherBug desktop, Mac, iOS, and Android applications do an excellent job of providing severe weather alerts to the community, these tools also come with additional weather monitoring capabilities besides weather alerting alone. This is beneficial to those needing a solid, all-in-one weather application, but at…

2016 Hurricane Season Outlooks

Some people have messaged me over social media in the past asking me concerning hurricane season outlooks. My first and foremost recommendation is to always check our WeatherBug meteorology team's hurricane season outlooks which are released shortly before the beginning of each hurricane season. Here is the press release from WeatherBug's parent company website, Earth…

Hi everyone!

I usually post holiday-related announcements on the Notes section, but since our home page has quite a bit of information on it already concerning the PWS announcement, I decided to post it to the blog instead to ensure it wouldn't be missed.

WeatherStudio and Paul Marv Software

I want to tell you about an excellent tool for tracking severe weather. It's called WeatherStudio version 3 from Paul Marv Software. WeatherStudio is an EXCELLENT weather graphics tool that allows viewers to view weather conditions from across the US, zooming into their region, state, or even down to street level! The quality of mapping and data is stunning. Even small TV stations on a shoestring budget are using…

I'm hoping after the New Year I will be back to blogging at least once a week, letting the fine folks up here in Georgia know about their weather. I'll put it at the top of my New Year's Resolutions list.
