We have about 5.5 inches of snow pack remaining which is quite a difference from a few days ago.  We never received the heavy rain that was predicted for us yesterday and we are very thankful for that.  There was 0.07" in my gauge this morning.   Although the road continues to be quite icy, it is passable.  Our forecast is calling for sun later today and that will be very welcome along with temps near 40F.  Hopefully, it will make a dent in the ice on the road and driveway.

Gaithersburg Maryland VP2 backyard weather station report for Friday, September 4, 2015

Friday was another hot one, though a lot cloudier than Thursday with showers in the region, mostly to my west in sections of WV and VA. With the back door cold front coming down from the north, the easterly flow most of the day was taking showers in an unusual east to west direction across the region. Low temps were around 70, rising to the 90 mark by about 2 PM, then cooling some with the increase in clouds later in the afternoon and evening. Dew point temperatures were in the mid 60s to mid…See More
